my experience with munning

To those of you who’re unaware, MUN-ning is a colloquial term used to describe the experience of attending MUN’s and participating in them. What’s a MUN, you might ask. MUN stands for Model United Nations. At its core, it’s a simulation of what an IRL United Nations session might look like. Except in MUNs, cosplay is something you’re marked above for.

Hirohito in my committee actually used up his research time to actually craft a Japanese sword. The sword however, had a dramatic impact on his image in committe. He almost always used it during his speeches and press releases, an obvious score booster. The committee in question was the Historical Crisis Committee, in which I was assigned Franklin Roosevelt. Overall my committee experience was a solid 8 out of 10. It was my first MUN after a while and I ended up getting a Special Mention.

During my time in this particular committee, I went to jail– technically I was impeached and George Marshall ( someone I could trust ) ended up going behind my back with an another commander and threw me into jail.

My press release from jail was interesting one. I also ended up being barred from committee for a good thirty minutes due to me swearing. It happened by accident. During my time-out I ended up looking at the World Map and drafting two resolutions.

One of which failed. The other one was passed.
Ultimately, I did end up getting out of jail.

  1. It seems interesting one! Although we don’t have MUN in school, we have Mock Parliament. I was in the opposition team and ended up scolding the speaker to shut up( no one should disobey the speaker, but i forgot) 😂.
