october’s technically spooky season, so it’s time to get into the mood. honestly, i feel like i’ve been listening to the same few songs on loop since august. however, i don’t mind since all these songs are a real vibe. they’re such works of art. here’s what my loop looks like :
i don’t know who gave enhypen the permission to make all their intros and outros this good. i’m addicted to fate. it’s not just the lines at the end, the delivery is just amazing. the song ends too early, i wish there was an extended version of the full song.
i came across a sped up version of this on soundcloud while riding the bus back home. needless to say, i googled the song up, only to find it was split. i’d listened to it before but the edit audio was absolutely different from the song.
i think the main reason i even got into punjabi/ hindi music is because of my friends. my closest group of friends are obsessed with punjabi and hindi music. i think one of them played this song while we were hanging out or i discovered this on their playlist. this was also trending for quite some time. ap has such a versatile discography, you don’t even need to understand the language to feel the music.
i like how all of his songs have a similar style but a distinctive vibe. you can tell it’s an ap song but you never know what to expect. i think that’s a major reason why so many people enjoy listening to his songs
the story behind this song is kind of funny. my friend posted herself to this song on her instagram story. i loved the chorus of it and plus my friend looked super pretty in her story. hence, it ended up on my repeats playlist. it’s such a feminine song, i love the imagery it creates too!
honestly, the divine feminine is one of my favourite albums by mac miller. skin is one of my top three tracks on the album. i was re-listening to it while doing maths and for some reason, every time skin played i just had to loop it. one of my biggest wishes is to have the divine feminine album in a vinyl version. it’s such a work of art.
i listened to this on every bus ride after my midterms. this song has the ability to literally transport you to another dimension. there’s not really a backstory behind this, i just discovered it through a song radio (i think). either way, it’s a very calming song and helps you to block your thoughts out. which is the essential of the day especially after an exam.
don toliver always serves every track he’s on. if a track has don toliver on it, you know it’s going to hit. masego did an amazing job on the track, hopefully they have more collaborations. i love how the lyrics literally blend into the beat. this song is not just catchy, it has staying power. i think i’ve never skipped this song despite listening to it 24/7 when i first discovered it.
i got into don toliver’s discography when he released the “life of a don” album. all his tracks are so different in terms of vibes and beats, but they have some sort of similarity to them- there’s not a single track of this you cannot skip.
anyways, this was it for my october playlist. i haven’t really listened to a lot of music apart from lofi. this is mainly because my midterms ended less than a week ago. all i remember is ruining my sleep schedule and only listening to lo-fi music. which is also why now i’ll be posting extremely consistently hehe.
what’s on your october playlist?
